Moonshell Arts and Humanities Council recognized its 2008 arts award recipients at an April 5 banquet at the Riverside Golf Club. Marsha Dunn is the council president.

The seventh annual awards banquet featured Robert Hanna, a graduate of Grand Island Senior High School, who is an award-winning architect and artist. Hanna also teaches drawing and watercolor around the Midwest.

Award winners were:

* Patron of The Arts Award (Individual) Donna Moyer, Wood River.

* Patron of The Arts Award (Organization) Grand Island/Hall County Convention and Visitors Bureau.

* Event or Performance Award Piccadilly Players, "Smoke on the Mountain."

* Literary Award Grand Island Independent's book "A Commemoration Of The Sesquicentennial of Hall County, Nebraska." Edited by Pete Letheby; Independent publisher: Don Smith; contributors: Julia Foote, Jean Lukesh, Guna Magnuson, George Ayoub, Edith Robbins, Karen Keehr, Gene Watson, Irene Abernethy, Jack Sheard, Amanda Patton, Kristen Friesen and Corbin Crable.

* Larry Maupin Award Jesse LaBrie, Grand Island Senior High vocal music teacher.

* Outstanding Visual Artist or Performance Award Ken Bassett, Prairie Winds Art Center.

* Arts and Humanities Project Award Stuhr Museum and Stuhr Museum Foundation for their weeklong Sesquicentennial Cele- bration.

* Junior Outstanding Artist Award Ben Robbins, Grand Island Senior High School.

* Junior Event or Performance Award Cheryl Lauer-Schuett, Grand Island Public Schools' Fifth-Grade Honor Choir.

* Moonshell Hall of Fame Award Grand Island Concert Association Diamond Jubilee Year.
