Meyer is one of two educators who received the award, said Chip Murrow, a community forester assistant with the Nebraska Forest Service in Lincoln.

"She is receiving the award for her dedication to education and making trees and our natural environment important issues for her students, enlightening their views and knowledge about nature," Murrow said.
