A collection of artwork from students throughout Hall County will cover the walls and halls of the Stuhr Building, Lacy Hall and Cronin Hall Friday at Stuhr Museum.

The Hall County Student Art Show will feature student artists from Grand Island Northwest High School, Grand Island Central Catholic, Grand Island Senior High, Central Catholic Middle School, Walnut Middle School, Barr Middle School, Westridge Middle School, Doniphan-Trumbull High School, Wood River Public School, Heartland Lutheran High School and Centura Public School.

"This is the biggest year," said Mike Bockoven, marketing and public relations director at Stuhr Museum. "Last year we had 250 pieces of art."

Almost every inch of available wall space in the Stuhr Building will be covered and may include different art mediums such as painting, drawing, sculpture, multimedia, 3D, and many more.

"The art extends into the auditorium as well," said Bockoven.

The art show has been known for the sheer volume and variety of pieces on display. For many of the students, this is the first time their art has been viewed by the public.

An opening reception is planned from 1 to 3 p.m. April 27. The reception is open to the public and refreshments will be served.

The art show will remain on display until May 16.

Admission to the museum is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4 for youth 6-12 years old; children 5 and under are admitted free.

For more information on the show or reception, call Stuhr Museum's Curator of Exhibits, Kari Stofer at 385-5316 ext. 215 or visit www.stuhrmuseum.org.
