Vickie McDonald thanked for her service
During the past few years, the voters of Legislative District 41 Nebraska State Senate have been served by the Honorable Vickie McDonald and her late husband. During that time, I have been in touch with her concerning problems that have arisen doing my job as chairman of the board of the Village of Farwell. Each time she has personally taken time to answer my questions to the best of her ability. We will miss her in Lincoln.
After studying the slate of candidates who wish to fill the position of state senator for the 41st District, I have found Paul Eurek is the best candidate to fill this position. After talking to him, his answers to questions are the most logical and fill the best interests for this district and the state of Nebraska as well.

Tippin sound volume too loud for attendees
We attended the Aaron Tippin - Ricochet concert last weekend at the Heartland Events Center. What should have been a very enjoyable evening turned out to be rather disappointing. No, it wasn't the performers, the seating, the hospitality of the center or our fellow attendees. It was the volume!
We opted for the "cheap seats" at the rear of the center, so we didn't spend and arm and a leg for the seats, but when one has to sit with fingers in ears to get a tolerable volume, it just isn't right. If the volume had been reduced by one-fourth or maybe even one-half, it would have been more in the range of enjoyable. I'm sure other people felt as we did, as even some of the twenty-something people who were walking out at the same time we did commented that their ears were ringing. (We're in the senior category.)
Sad to say, we're not even sure we want to attend any other concerts at the Center if something isn't done about the excess volume. When I called to register a complaint, I was told the performers request that volume. I'd think when you're hiring the performers you could have some say in what you're getting. If you feel as we do, please call the Heartland Events Center to voice your feelings.
By the way, we did enjoy the "Concert after the Concert" on Country 96 on the way home. We could understand the words to the songs and we could turn down the volume when it was a little too loud.
